Monitor Stakeholder Engagement assesses whether stakeholder engagement is achieving the desired level and adjusts strategies and tactics when it isn’t. It compares current engagement against the plan and watches for shifts in stakeholder attitudes and influence.
The stakeholder engagement assessment matrix (current versus desired) is a key tool, and analysis reveals where relationships are slipping. Changes feed back into the engagement and communications plans.
Common pitfalls. Assuming early engagement holds without rechecking; missing stakeholders whose influence has grown; reacting to dissatisfaction only after it becomes resistance; and adjusting tactics without diagnosing the cause.
