This policy describes what pmplaybook.pro collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Oleksandr Nikolaichuk as an individual — there is no company behind it and no one else has access to it. There is more about who writes PM Playbook and how on the about page. For anything in this policy, including a request about your own data, write to editor@pmplaybook.pro.
What this site does not do
It is worth stating plainly, because it removes most of the usual questions:
- There are no user accounts and no way to register.
- Comments are switched off across the whole site.
- There are no forms. The contact page is a plain email link.
- There is no newsletter or mailing list.
- There is no advertising, and nothing here is sold or shared with anyone for marketing.
- The fonts and images are served from this site, so loading a page does not announce your visit to a font or CDN provider.
What is collected
Analytics
Analytics is off until you turn it on. The first time you visit, a bar at the bottom of the page asks whether you are willing to be counted. Until you answer yes, nothing is loaded from Google at all — not the analytics script, not the tag manager, nothing. Saying no is one click and costs you nothing: every page works identically either way.
If you do say yes, the site loads Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to see which pages are read and roughly where readers come from. It records things like the page you viewed, the referring page, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It sets cookies in your browser (names beginning _ga) so that repeat visits can be counted as one visitor rather than several.
You can change your mind whenever you like: Cookie settings at the bottom of any page reopens the question. Switching from yes to no deletes the analytics cookies this site set and stops the script loading again.
I use this in aggregate only. I do not try to identify individual readers, and there is nothing on the site — no account, no form, no email capture — that would let me connect analytics data to a name.
Google acts as the analytics provider and processes this data on its own infrastructure, which may be outside your country. Beyond the choice on this site, Google publishes a browser add-on that switches Analytics off everywhere you go: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies or using a tracker-blocking extension has the same effect.
Server logs
Like any web server, this one records each request: the IP address it came from, the time, the page requested, the response code, and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse — they are how a broken page or an attack gets noticed. They are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted automatically, and they are not used for analytics or combined with anything else.
Email you send me
If you email editor@pmplaybook.pro, that message sits in an ordinary mailbox with my email provider. I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful to answer it and to remember a correction that was made, and no longer. I do not add anyone who writes to me to any list, because there is no list.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EU, or another place with comparable law, you have the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Write to editor@pmplaybook.pro and I will answer.
One honest limitation: because the site holds no accounts and analytics data is not linked to any identity, I usually have no way to find “your” records in it. If you have emailed me, that correspondence I can find and delete on request.
Children
This site is a professional reference and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it.
